Heat Compass Privacy Policy

Heat Compass is designed to keep your data on your device. This policy explains what information the app uses, why each permission is needed, and the two narrow things that ever leave your phone.

Information Collection and Use

There is no account and no sign-in. We do not run analytics, show ads, or track you.

• Location: used to fetch current weather and forecasts for where you are. Your coordinates are sent to the weather services that supply our data (the US National Weather Service and Open-Meteo) to answer each request. We do not store your location on any server.
• Anonymous session: the app creates an anonymous Firebase session so it can operate. This produces a random identifier that is not connected to your name, email, or any personal information.
• Notifications: if you allow them, heat-flag alerts and hydration reminders are generated locally on your device.

Your hydration log, body-weight setting, household members, and all other app data are stored only on your device. You can delete them at any time by deleting the app.

Information Sharing

We do not sell, share, or monetize your information. Weather providers receive only the coordinates needed to return conditions for your area. If you email us for support, we see only what you choose to send and use it solely to help you.

Not a Medical Device

Heat Compass provides general heat-safety guidance based on published heat-stress doctrine. It is not a medical device and does not replace occupational safety programs or professional judgment.
